This fantastic 170-square-metre space has been decorated with class, but without undue extravagance. The floors, which date from the beginning of the 20th century (different in each room), the stucco work and the ceilings with their worn plaster make no secret of their age and are witnesses to the passage of time. The beautiful tiled stove, which survived two world wars, now serves as a bar. On the other hand, all of the contemporary elements have been simplified in the spirit of modernism. The architect, Zofia Wyganowska, made sure to subtly combine the historical with the contemporary.
Everything in this interior oscillates around sepia tones: the patchwork of different types of woods and veneers, the woven cane of the Breuer chairs, glints of brass, gold and smoke-tinted glass. The space, however, never strikes a minor chord thanks to the excess of whites and light. The owners value tradition, culture, and art more than furniture. They introduced but a few furnishings, however each piece is unique: the piano plays first fiddle, the coffee table is a wedding gift, the Living Divani sofa was bought with donations from their wedding. The photo (on the left) was given to them by a friend.
